If you want some real nice free stuff, look at ‘Scrapbook Flair’
Make all kinds of great photo albums, with text, pic frames, tons of effects.
Make the album just like you want, then for each page you’ve made, do a ‘print screen’> save into a folder> crop away the non-page stuff> re-save.
Now you have items you can view, save to disk, put in a slideshow for off line viewing, printing; almost anything.
And you can have free webspace to show the album, to friends (private viewing) or the public…all free.
They will also do pro printing of cards.
No pop-up ads, spyware, junk, etc.
Very easy to use.

  1. You really do not need scrapbooking software because you can create layouts at CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com. CropMom is an online scrapbooking, collage, and card-making site.

Upload your photo. Make a layout using it. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your layout.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the “share” link. It’ll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen quality layout will be sent via email for free. The site charges a nominal fee for high resolution print quality Then JPEG file of your layout (it doesn’t cost much) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your layout at home. Or – what I usually do – is have my layout printed by Shutterfly or Snapfish.
